Job summary

NRL is seeking a Senior Process Engineer – Biopharma to join a global engineering team in Cork, Ireland. The role focuses on leading process design for high-purity utilities and complex biopharma systems, with a strong emphasis on leadership, regulatory compliance, and client engagement.

The successful candidate will manage design through construction, commissioning and handover, contributing to bid activity and risk management in a hybrid Cork-based environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in process plant design, realisation and commissioning in life sciences.
• Strong knowledge of biotechnological processes (USP, DSP, CIP, SIP) and single-use systems.
• Understanding of biosafety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead system design teams for high-purity utilities and complex process systems.
• Provide technical leadership within the Process Technology group.
• Develop planning concepts and prepare cost forecasts.
• Create and review specifications and bills of quantities.
• Support sales and proposals during bid phases.
• Oversee process design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Contribute to project risk management and regulatory evaluations.
