Job summary

RTÉ in Dublin is seeking a Senior Broadcast Engineer to join the Playout and Distribution team. You will design, operate, maintain and continuously improve the broadcast infrastructure and related systems, ensuring reliability for linear and OTT services.

The role requires 5+ years in broadcast engineering, strong knowledge of IP networking, media workflows, and hands-on experience with automation, playout, and transmission. It is a permanent role with a competitive €62,633–€75,834 salary.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Broadcast Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong knowledge of broadcast automation, playout, transmission, systems integration, and digital media workflows.
Experience supporting and maintaining mission-critical broadcast and IT infrastructure.
Solid understanding of IP networking and media transport technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, multicast, SMPTE ST 2110, NDI, SRT).
Experience with enterprise IT systems, including servers, storage, virtualization, cloud services, and cybersecurity best practices.

Responsibilities

Design, operate, maintain and continuously improve broadcast infrastructure.
Support and evolve broadcast automation, playout, monitoring, and control systems.
Manage current and next-generation transmission infrastructure for linear services.
