Job summary

RTÉ Technology seeks a Senior Broadcast Engineer to join the Playout and Distribution team. You will design, operate, maintain, and continuously improve broadcast infrastructure, overseeing automation, playout, and transmission systems.

The role requires expertise in IP networking, media transport, and enterprise IT, with a track record of leading teams and managing stakeholders. This is a permanent, on-site position in Ireland with a salary of €62,633–€75,834 gross per year.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Broadcast Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of broadcast automation, playout, transmission systems, and digital media workflows.
• Experience supporting and maintaining mission-critical broadcast and IT infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of IP networking and media transport technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, multicast, SMPTE ST 2110, NDI, SRT).
