Job summary

RTÉ is seeking an experienced Streaming Infrastructure Engineer to join the Playout and Distribution team in Dublin. You will design, implement, and maintain infrastructure and workflows for OTT and digital media systems, ensuring high availability and reliability.

With 5+ years in OTT, streaming or media tech, you will optimize video delivery, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive automation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in OTT, streaming, or media tech environments.
• Degree in CS or Engineering.
• Proficiency with Linux, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with streaming protocols like SMPTE ST 2110 and HLS.
• Strong analytical and collaboration skills.
• Experience with automation and programming languages (Python/Java).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure for OTT and digital media systems.
• Develop streaming technology solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to scalable, high-performance video and audio architectures.
• Monitor and improve end-to-end video delivery performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot issues across streaming, broadcast and IT systems.
• Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
