Job summary

RTÉ seeks an experienced Streaming Infrastructure Engineer to join the Playout and Distribution team in Dublin. You will design, implement, and maintain infrastructure for OTT and digital media, delivering resilient, scalable streaming experiences.

You will collaborate across teams to optimize streaming solutions, monitor performance, and drive automation. The role requires 5+ years in media tech, strong Linux and networking knowledge, and expertise in SMPTE, HLS, CMAF, and DRM systems.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
5+ years in OTT/streaming/broadcast.
Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (Python/Java).

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure and workflows for OTT and digital media systems.
Develop and optimize streaming technology solutions with cross-functional teams.
Contribute to the architecture of scalable, high-performance video and audio streaming systems.
Monitor and improve end-to-end video delivery performance and QoE.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across streaming, broadcast, and IT systems.
Drive automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
