Job summary

Fidelity Information Services, LLC (FIS) is spearheading a startup-like initiative building an AI-enabled, autonomous banking platform for Tier-1 banks. The role focuses on core banking capabilities, workflows, compliance, and end-to-end ownership from design to production operation.

You will design scalable, auditable systems, define APIs and data contracts, and drive reliability across large-scale, distributed services in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Deep experience designing and building complex distributed systems at scale.
• Strong knowledge of concurrency, consistency, invariants and failure modes.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and streaming platforms like Kafka.

Responsibilities

• Banking Platform Engineering: Build and evolve capabilities for modern banking products.
• Define reliable APIs, events, and data contracts for a coherent platform.
• Production Ownership: design, implement, test, deploy, operate, and improve services.
• Participate in on-call and incident response across distributed services.
• Establish observability, operational controls, and recovery procedures.
• Architecture and Delivery: design for correctness, auditability, and scale.
• Improve testing, CI/CD, safe deployment, rollback, and recovery.
• Use AI-assisted engineering and automate where it improves outcomes.
• Mentor and share knowledge to raise engineering capability.
