Job description

Senior Physiotherapist (Location: Stepaside Dublin)

Job Type Full Time

Description

Job Description: Senior Physiotherapist

Clinic Name: Resync Physiotherapy
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Position Type: Full-time

About Us

Resync Physiotherapy is a leading private physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinic in Dublin, focused on delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.

Our approach goes beyond symptom management. We aim to guide patients through the full rehabilitation pathway — from assessment and diagnosis through progressive rehabilitation, strength development, return to activity and performance.

We work with a broad range of patients, from active adults recovering from injury to recreational and competitive athletes looking to return to sport and improve performance.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Physiotherapist with a strong background in rehabilitation-based physiotherapy and Strength & Conditioning to join our team.

The successful candidate should be confident managing patients beyond the treatment room and delivering progressive, gym-based rehabilitation programmes.

You will play a key role in providing clinical leadership, mentoring junior physiotherapists and helping further develop Resync's rehabilitation and performance services.

This position is particularly suited to a physiotherapist who enjoys combining clinical reasoning, rehabilitation, exercise prescription and Strength & Conditioning principles to achieve long-term patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the assessment, diagnosis and management of patients presenting with a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions.

  • Develop structured, progressive rehabilitation programmes based on the patient's diagnosis, functional requirements, goals and stage of recovery.

  • Deliver gym-based rehabilitation and Strength & Conditioning programmes, including appropriate use of strength, power, plyometric, running and return-to-sport progressions.

  • Use objective testing and outcome measures to guide rehabilitation progression and return-to-activity or return-to-sport decision-making.

  • Provide appropriate hands‑on physiotherapy interventions where required, including manual therapy and other treatment modalities, while maintaining a strong emphasis on active rehabilitation.

  • Progress patients through the full rehabilitation pathway — from initial injury management through restoration of movement, strength, capacity and ultimately return to training, sport or normal activity.

  • Supervise and support junior physiotherapists in their clinical practice, providing guidance, feedback and mentorship to develop their clinical reasoning and rehabilitation skills.

  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, treatment sessions, rehabilitation programmes and progress notes in accordance with clinic protocols and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, Strength & Conditioning coaches and other healthcare professionals to optimise patient outcomes.

  • Participate in clinic meetings, case discussions, in‑service training and professional development activities.

  • Contribute to the continued development of Resync's physiotherapy, rehabilitation and performance services, including clinical pathways, testing protocols and rehabilitation standards.

  • Play an active role in achieving clinic KPIs relating to patient outcomes, caseload management, appointment utilisation, documentation standards, patient satisfaction and clinic performance.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.

  • Current eligibility for registration with CORU.

  • Minimum of 5 years' clinical experience, preferably with significant experience in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy.

  • Strong background in rehabilitation-based physiotherapy, with demonstrated experience progressing patients from acute injury through gym-based rehabilitation and return to activity or sport.

  • Strong understanding of Strength & Conditioning principles and their application within physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

  • Confidence prescribing and coaching resistance training and progressive loading programmes within a rehabilitation environment.

  • Experience with return-to-running, return-to-sport and performance-based rehabilitation is highly desirable.

  • Strong clinical reasoning and decision‑making skills with a commitment to evidence-based practice.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and support junior clinicians.

  • Professional indemnity insurance coverage.

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and postgraduate education.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment and communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and other healthcare professionals.

Desirable Experience

Additional qualifications or experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Strength & Conditioning qualifications

  • Sports Physiotherapy or Sports Medicine

  • Return-to-sport rehabilitation

  • ACL and lower-limb rehabilitation

  • Running rehabilitation

  • Field-sport rehabilitation

  • Objective strength and performance testing

  • VALD or similar performance-testing technology

  • Postgraduate qualifications in musculoskeletal or sports physiotherapy

Benefits
  • Competitive salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications.

  • Clear career progression pathway based on clinical performance, leadership and agreed KPIs.

  • Opportunity to work within a purpose-built physiotherapy and rehabilitation environment.

  • Access to a fully equipped rehabilitation gym and objective testing technology.

  • Regular internal professional development, case discussions and mentorship.

  • Support for ongoing training and continuing professional development.

  • Opportunity to contribute to the continued development of Resync's rehabilitation and performance services.

The Candidate We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who sees physiotherapy as more than treating pain.

You should be comfortable taking a patient from assessment and diagnosis through rehabilitation, strength development and return to performance.

You will enjoy working in a gym-based rehabilitation environment, understand progressive loading and Strength & Conditioning principles, and be confident coaching patients through the later stages of rehabilitation.

If you are an experienced physiotherapist looking to develop your career within a clinic that places rehabilitation, objective testing and long‑term patient outcomes at the centre of its approach, we would like to hear from you.
