Job summary

Partner Company is seeking a Senior PHP/Laravel Developer with strong Infrastructure & DevOps experience for a remote role based in Ireland. The candidate will split time between software development and infrastructure administration, taking ownership of production systems and ensuring reliability across the full stack.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on PHP/Laravel development with expertise in Proxmox, Ceph, ZFS, monitoring, and deployment automation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong PHP and Laravel production expertise, ideally with Laravel 12 and PHP 8.4.
• Architectural design, API development, and data-driven applications.
• Solid secure coding, testing, code reviews, and quality practices.
• CI/CD, Git-based workflows, Jenkins, and deployment automation.
• Hands-on Linux/DevOps experience, infrastructure administration, and virtualization.
• Experience with high-availability production environments and incident handling.
• Professional English communication and ability to document clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain PHP/Laravel apps ensuring performance and reliability.
• Design architecture, APIs, and integrations with internal systems.
• Maintain automated tests, quality checks, and code reviews with Pest, PHPStan, and Laravel Pint.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation with Jenkins, Git, and Gitea.
• Lead code reviews and mentor other developers on engineering challenges.
• Manage production incidents, root-cause analysis, and preventive measures.
• Administer Proxmox clusters, Ceph/CephFS, ZFS, Linux, containers, and related infra.
• Monitor systems with Icinga, Grafana, and Loki to ensure uptime and resilience.
• Document architecture, configurations, procedures, and runbooks.
