Job summary

Harvey Nash is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team focused on optimizing payment technology systems for speed, scalability and reliability.

You will design and run performance tests, identify bottlenecks across Java applications, databases and infrastructure, and develop automation to improve testing efficiency. Strong knowledge of CI/CD, observability tools and SQL tuning is required.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Performance Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team focused on optimizing systems that support critical payment technology.

What You’ll Be Doing

What We’re Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience with JMeter, LoadRunner, StormRunner or similar performance testing tools.
• Strong programming and automation skills using Java, Groovy, Python, Shell or equivalent.
• End-to-end performance engineering experience, from NFR definition through testing, analysis and reporting.
• Proven ability to perform root cause analysis across applications, databases and infrastructure.
• Experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, Prometheus or similar observability platforms.
• Strong SQL and database performance tuning experience.
• Experience with cloud-native, distributed architectures, microservices and APIs.
• Experience testing APIs, batch processing, event-driven systems, messaging and asynchronous workloads.
