Job description

Manage the execution of the business B2G/ B2B partnership strategy across the State, PRS and PBSA sectors for a self‑building residential developer. Provide strategic and market insights to inform the medium-term business strategy. The role strengthens the commercial pipeline, supports the long‑term viability of the development programme, and ensures alignment between private‑sector partnerships and public‑sector collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
B2G – State Funded Sector (AHBs, the LDA, the Housing Agency)
  • Lead the identification, development, and conversion of B2G partnership opportunities that complement the organisation’s self‑build development pipeline.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Approved Housing Bodies, the LDA, the Housing Agency, and other stakeholders across the State sector.
  • Shape partnership models that integrate seamlessly with the organisation’s in‑house design, construction, and operational capabilities.
  • Work closely with development, construction, and asset management teams to ensure partnership requirements are embedded early in the design and build process.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end partnership delivery, ensuring commercial, operational, and customer‑experience objectives are met across the full lifecycle of self‑built assets.
  • Monitor sector trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to inform strategic positioning and future development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (development, construction, operations, marketing, legal) to ensure smooth onboarding and long‑term partner success.
  • Support the Head of Partnerships to align B2B and B2G strategies, ensuring shared insights and coordinated engagement to optimise value for the business.
  • Provide research, analysis, and sector intelligence to strengthen B2B proposals.
  • Support the preparation of bids, tenders, and partnership proposals for local authorities, housing associations, and other public‑sector bodies.
  • Contribute to cross‑sector partnership models that blend B2B and B2G approaches—for example, mixed‑tenure schemes, nomination agreements, or joint delivery models.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, roundtables, and stakeholder meetings, supporting both B2B and B2G engagement.
  • Assist with internal reporting, pipeline management, and governance processes related to public‑sector partnership activity.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a bridge between B2B, B2G, and core development functions, ensuring knowledge‑sharing and consistent messaging across the organisation.
  • Support the creation of thought leadership, case studies, and sector insights that position the organisation as a leading self‑build developer in mixed‑tenure housing.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, including early‑stage development appraisals, to ensure partnership opportunities are integrated into pipeline decisions.
  • Work with construction and operations teams to ensure partnership commitments are deliverable and aligned with build‑to‑rent and student living standards.
Skills & Experience
  • Strong track record in B2G/ B2B partnership development within State, PRS, PBSA, residential development, or related sectors.
  • Experience working with or supporting public‑sector stakeholders (local authorities, housing associations, government agencies) is advantageous.
  • Understanding of the development lifecycle—land, planning, design, construction, and operations—particularly within a self‑build or vertically integrated environment.
  • Excellent relationship‑building, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage complex, multi‑stakeholder projects with both commercial and social impact considerations.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities and a collaborative, solutions‑focused mindset.
