Qualifications

• Registered in the General Division of the live NMBI register.
• Minimum 5 years post-registration experience in an acute setting.
• Minimum 2 years management experience at CNMII or higher.
• Management qualification and risk management experience desirable.
• Proven track record in Nursing Management at senior level.
• Preceptorship/teaching and assessing students/junior staff essential.
• Experience in service improvement and development implementation.
• Excellent leadership with initiative and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to negotiate and resolve difficult clinical/operational scenarios.
• Extensive knowledge of Nurse Management principles and practices.
• Knowledge of Health Service Quality Framework and Accreditation processes in Ireland.
• Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Change, resource and project management skills.
• Understanding of performance and development review processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to ensure safe, effective, and efficient patient flow and service delivery across clinical areas.
• Participate in hospital-wide governance, capacity planning and escalation management.
• Drive quality improvement and organisational performance initiatives.
• Support development and implementation of hospital priorities.
• Contribute to strategic leadership and cross-department coordination.
• Lead nursing leadership to shape future delivery of healthcare services.
