Job summary

Freudenberg Medical in Ireland is seeking a Senior NPI Engineer to lead the introduction of new products into commercial manufacturing. You will guide cross-functional teams, develop transfer roadmaps, and drive innovative solutions while maintaining quality, regulatory compliance, and project timelines.

The role requires a third-level Engineering qualification with 4+ years in NPI or medical devices, and a hands-on, collaborative approach to problem solving.

Qualifications

• A third-level qualification in Engineering or a related Science/Technology/Engineering discipline.
• 4+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in NPI or medical device manufacturing.
• Proven project management experience leading NPI projects from concept to commercialisation.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes for catheter-based products (extrusion, moulding, balloon forming, braiding, packaging and assembly).
• Hands-on problem solver with excellent technical, organisational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all projects align with stage gate reviews and meet regulatory, quality, and business requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance products, processes, and ways of working.
• Work independently with real ownership of results, while mentoring and supporting junior engineers.
• Build alignment across teams, influencing decisions and ensuring smooth collaboration in complex situations.

• 4+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within new product introduction or a medical device manufacturing environment.


• Proven project management experience, with a track record of successfully leading NPI projects from concept to commercialisation.


• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes for catheter-based products, such as extrusion, moulding, balloon forming, braiding, packaging, and assembly techniques.


• A hands‑on problem solver with excellent technical, organisational, and communication skills
