Job summary

BD is seeking an experienced R&D Staff Engineer to join the Pharmaceutical Systems team in Dublin, Ireland. You will contribute to wearable infusion pumps and related drug‑delivery devices, advancing products from concept through commercialization.

You will work in a multidisciplinary environment across the full product lifecycle, supporting feasibility, design verification, validation, and regulatory updates while mentoring colleagues and driving robust development practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical/Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineering or related field.
• Progressive experience in medical device R&D or regulated engineering environment.
• Proven success leading complex product development programs from concept to commercialization.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, and optimization of medical devices and combination products from concept through commercialization.
• Drive verification, validation, risk assessments, and design control activities in a regulated environment.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and commercial teams to enable product launches.
• Apply DFSS, DFM, DOE to support robust development and manufacturability.
• Generate and maintain engineering documentation and support IP activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge.
