Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer based in Dublin City Centre to lead mechanical design across major projects. You will drive design quality, manage client relationships and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with BIM and sustainability teams.

You’ll deliver HVAC and related systems from feasibility through handover, ensuring regulatory compliance and high technical standards. Hybrid working, strong benefits, and clear career progression are offered.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• Five+ years' experience in mechanical building-services design.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation and water systems.
• Experience delivering projects in a building-services consultancy.
• Chartered Engineer status or active progression towards chartership is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and delivery of projects through the full lifecycle.
• Manage design packages and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Mentor graduate, junior and intermediate engineers.
• Coordinate with BIM, electrical, structural and sustainability teams.
• Review technical submissions, calculations and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with Irish Building Regulations and industry standards.
