Job summary

Brodeen Engineering, a multi-disciplinary contractor based in Tipperary Town, Ireland, seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to steer the engineering department and deliver mechanical and pipework projects across Ireland and Europe.

You will provide technical leadership, review designs, and coordinate with BIM, procurement, and site teams to ensure on-time fabrication and installation. The role demands a 5+ year track record, a relevant degree, and experience in data centre piping systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in a similar lead role.
• Degree in Engineering or suitable field.
• Experience with data centre piping systems, stainless steel and carbon steel.
• Experience with Navisworks, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical engineering team across multiple projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to a team of Engineers.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements and applicable standards.
• Review and approve engineering designs, drawings and technical submissions.
• Ensure fabrication drawings and installation packages are issued for fabrication on time.
• Support tendering and estimating activities where applicable.
• Coordinate with BIM team as required.
• Oversee procurement of project materials and management of subcontractors.
• Support commercial negotiations where required.
• Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
• Oversee Engineering Support for Site installation.
• Attend client, design and progress meetings.
