Emeya Recruitment Limited is assisting a leading engineering consultancy in Dublin to hire a Senior Mechanical Lead / Principal Mechanical Engineer for data centre and mission-critical projects. The role requires ownership of mechanical design packages, strong leadership across HVAC and cooling systems, and the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams while mentoring engineers.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in mechanical engineering and building services.
• Proven experience delivering data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and critical cooling systems.
• Experience leading mechanical design packages and workstreams.
• Strong multidisciplinary design coordination.
• Experience mentoring engineers.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication, technical reporting and presentation abilities.
• Commercial and delivery-focused approach to engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and technical delivery across major data centre and mission-critical projects.
• Own mechanical engineering packages and workstreams from concept through construction.
• Provide technical leadership across HVAC and critical cooling systems.
• Review mechanical designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with standards, regulations, client requirements and project specs.
• Coordinate mechanical design with electrical, structural, architectural and other disciplines.
• Manage technical interfaces between design teams, contractors, suppliers and clients.
• Support project planning, programme management and technical risk management.
• Identify and resolve complex mechanical engineering issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers within the wider team.
• Support continuous improvement of engineering processes, standards and design practices.
• Contribute to successful project delivery while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.
