Job summary

Awilli Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Contracts Manager in Ireland to lead the delivery of multiple contracts from tender handover through to final account. You will supervise Project Managers and site teams to ensure on-time delivery, value for money and compliance with quality and safety standards.

The role requires substantial experience in mechanical/building services contracts, strong commercial acumen and proven leadership to develop capable teams and maintain client relationships

Qualifications

• Substantial experience managing mechanical/building services contracts or multiple mechanical projects.
• Proven track record leading Project Managers and site teams to successful delivery.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of contract obligations, cost control and final accounts.
• Excellent leadership and communication, with ability to hold teams accountable and develop them.
• Technical understanding of HVAC, heating, chilled water and associated systems.

Responsibilities

• Establish delivery plans, resource requirements, milestones and reporting schedules across contracts.
• Lead and support Project Managers, ensuring programme, budget, quality, safety and handover.
• Review tender assumptions, scope and contractual obligations; identify risks and mitigation actions.
• Coordinate design, engineering, procurement, site teams and subcontractors to meet delivery commitments.
• Monitor costs, forecasts, variations and final accounts with commercial colleagues.
• Provide senior leadership with portfolio reporting and clear recommendations on risks and delivery issues.
• Maintain strong client, consultant, main contractor, supplier and subcontractor relationships.
• Visit project sites, resolve escalations and maintain visibility of delivery performance.
• Improve project controls and documentation; capture lessons learned across the team.
• Oversee commissioning and handover readiness to meet contractual requirements.

The opportunity

Lead the delivery of multiple mechanical contracts and the Project Managers responsible for them, from tender handover through procurement, installation, commissioning and final account.

This role suits an experienced mechanical leader who sets clear expectations, develops capable teams and combines technical understanding with sound commercial judgment. You will bring ownership, accountability and consistent project controls to a growing delivery team.

Key responsibilities

What you will bring

• Substantial experience in mechanical or building services contracts management, or in managing multiple mechanical projects.
• A proven record of delivering projects through Project Managers and site leadership teams.
• A relevant mechanical or building services qualification, or equivalent senior experience gained through a trade background.
• Strong commercial awareness and practical knowledge of contract obligations, cost control, variations and final accounts.
• Technical understanding of HVAC, heating, chilled water, water services and associated mechanical systems.
• Confident leadership, clear communication and the ability to hold teams accountable while supporting their development.
• Strong client management skills and a proactive approach to resolving technical and commercial issues.
