Brightwater Recruitment in West Cork is seeking an experienced qualified accountant to take responsibility for a portfolio of clients and lead a team of 10-12. This senior management role blends client engagement, financial oversight and people leadership.

The successful candidate will excel at communicating with clients, providing meaningful financial and commercial advice, and overseeing management accounts, financial analysis and workflows across the team.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA)
• Minimum 5 years' post-qualified experience
• Strong management accounts and financial analysis experience
• Proven experience managing and developing a team
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Commercially minded with strong attention to detail
• Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Oversee a large portfolio of clients and their accounting requirements.
• Lead, manage and develop a sizeable team of accountants and trainees.
• Review management accounts and analyse financial performance and margins.
• Provide financial insight and advice to clients, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee financial controls, working capital and overall financial reporting.
• Manage client relationships and ensure a high standard of service.
• Provide hands-on support during key periods of the year when required.

Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established and highly successful business in West Cork in a senior management position.

We’re looking for an experienced qualified accountant to take responsibility for a portfolio of clients and lead a team of 10-12. This is a role with genuine scope and responsibility, combining client engagement, financial oversight and team leadership.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator who enjoys working with clients, understanding their businesses and providing meaningful financial and commercial advice. You’ll have a strong background in management accounts, financial analysis and team management, with the ability to oversee workflows, people and client relationships effectively.

This is predominantly an oversight and management role, with some hands-on accounting responsibilities at key periods of the year. It offers excellent exposure to senior clients and high level of autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For
