Job summary

Boston Scientific in Ireland is seeking a Maintenance Technician S2 on a permanent basis to join our team. You will provide electrical and mechanical maintenance support to maximise asset performance and uphold high maintenance standards in a GMP environment.

Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will carry out planned and unplanned maintenance, perform root cause analysis, support line teams, and drive continuous improvement through lean thinking and OEE data to reduce downtime and

Qualifications

• NFQ Level 6 Higher certificate qualification in STEM, Automation Systems or Mechatronics.
• Knowledge & experience in GMP requirements.
• Experience working in a Cleanroom environment.
• Previous experience with CMMS (preferably BMRAM).
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge & Experience in OEE systems/software applications.
• Strong electrical and electronic repair and diagnostic skills.
• Strong mechanical systems problem solving & repair skills.
• Experience in pneumatic fault finding and repair.
• Experience with high-speed automated manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with maintenance of Vision inspection systems.
• Experience in the operation & programming of PLCs, Drives, HMIs etc.
• Demonstrate levels of theoretical knowledge with practical application.
• Good teamwork & communication skills.
• Good computer skills.
• Experience in another similar technician position is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Planned Preventative Maintenance through CMMS System (BMRAM).
• Carry out maintenance of production process equipment, including planned and unplanned tasks.
• Conduct root cause analysis on breakdowns and implement corrective repairs.
• Support Line teams and systems to maximise equipment uptime.
• Aim to improve MTTR, MTBF using downtime and OEE data.
• Identify and implement permanent solutions for recurring downtime issues.
• Support 5S and Safety programs within Value Streams & Equipment Management areas.
• Promote Continuous Improvement in the Maintenance Department.
• Regularly report work status to engineers and team leaders.
