Job summary

ESB is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the onshore and offshore substations for major offshore wind projects. The role focuses on delivering electrical interfaces, system studies, and grid connections, while coordinating with procurement, design partners, and contractors.

A Chartered status and seven years in large-scale energy projects are preferred. The successful candidate will be based in Ireland with hybrid working arrangements, joining the Offshore Wind Team and

Qualifications

• Level 8 degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum seven years’ relevant experience in the large-scale generation or energy sector, including work on electrical systems from 33 kV to 400 kV.
• Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards Chartership.
• Strong experience in design leadership and/or contract management for substations, grid connections or heavy electrical works.

Responsibilities

• Act as electrical lead for onshore and offshore substations, coordinating interfaces and delivery timelines.
• Lead design and delivery of onshore and offshore substations with oversight of FEED, protection, control and grid code compliance.
• Coordinate interfaces across transmission infrastructure and project disciplines.
• Support contracting and procurement activities including tender evaluations and contract negotiations.
• Ensure safety, health and environmental considerations are prioritized throughout the project.
