Job summary

Electricity Supply Board (ESB) is seeking a Senior Site Civil Engineer to oversee on-site activities, manage contractors, and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations on large-scale generation projects in Ireland. The role requires a Level 8 Civil Engineering degree, at least five years of site management experience, and strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

It is a full-time, on-site position with travel across Irish projects and potential

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher civil engineering degree (Level 8).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil engineering with site management on energy infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and contract administration.
• Experience engaging with stakeholders; ability to deliver high-quality work.
• Proven track record of delivering work to high professional standards; flexible and decisive.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise on-site activities of contractors on generation projects and demolition/construct phase activities.
• Assist with contract administration for main contractors and corresponding site issues.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental regulations and planning requirements on power plant construction.
• Act as on-site point of contact for project team and report progress to senior management.
• Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, safety and environmental specialists to ensure seamless contract execution.
• Maintain detailed logs, inspections and incident reports; support with contractor claims and commercial risks.
