Job summary

EirGrid Group is seeking a Senior Lead Project Engineer to lead and deliver major infrastructure projects within Ireland’s power transmission network. You will drive projects from initiation through to commissioning, balancing time, budget, and quality while coordinating office work and site visits to substations and circuit sites.

The role requires a degree in engineering with substantial experience in large-scale energy projects.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent with 6+ years in power/energy sector.
• Experience managing large, complex infrastructure projects.
• Ability to lead with drive and align with company strategy.
• Excellent communication of technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to coach and develop high-performance teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and understanding of transmission projects.
• Full driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver medium to large infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
• Manage projects across their full life cycle from initiation to close.
• Coordinate office-based work and site visits to substations and circuit sites.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure Delivery team to meet renewable targets.
• Ensure governance and quality controls are followed.
