Job summary

ESB is seeking a Project Engineer to deliver major network projects supporting Ireland’s energy transition. You will assist in planning, monitoring and delivering capital works across substations, HV and overhead lines, with nationwide travel as needed.

The role requires a Level 8 engineering degree, 7+ years of project management experience, and strong contractor oversight. Smart working and hybrid arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Seven years or more experience in project management/delivery in electricity.
• Level 8 degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience dealing with construction contractors to meet requirements.
• Excellent knowledge of PSDP and PSCS processes.
• Understanding of High Voltage and project management essentials.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in delivering capital projects safely and on programme.
• Develop and manage project programmes and monitor contractor schedules.
• Lead tender processes including documentation, evaluation and negotiation.
• Coordinate interfaces such as procurement, design, and cables.
• Prepare due diligence reports for contestable substation projects.
