Job summary

Berkley Group is hiring multiple Senior Java Developer contractors to join large-scale enterprise technology projects in Dublin. These roles require 7+ years of commercial Java development, strong Spring Boot and REST API experience, and a track record in agile teams.

Rates range from €350–€385 per day; visa sponsorship is not available and applicants must have EU rights to work in Ireland. Experience with microservices, Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD will be advantageous.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial Java development experience.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot expertise.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Strong OO design and software development principles.
• Experience with Git and modern source control.
• Exposure to automated testing and CI/CD.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise Java applications.
• Build scalable backend services and REST APIs.
• Develop high-quality, well-tested code.
• Work with Spring and Spring Boot-based apps.
• Contribute to design decisions and architecture.
• Troubleshoot production issues.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps and business teams.
• Participate in code reviews and good practices.
• Work in Agile teams through full SDLC.
