Job summary

Berkley Group is seeking an experienced Java Developer to support enterprise application development in a structured environment in Dublin. You will work on new development, enhancements, testing support, issue resolution and release activities.

The role requires strong Java development, solid SQL/database knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders across agile/waterfall delivery models. You will also engage in code reviews and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Experience with Spring and/or Hibernate.
• Practical experience with containerized applications - Docker/Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with Web Services.
• Familiarity with XML and JSON.
• Unit and integration testing experience, ideally with JUnit.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Exposure to Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.

Responsibilities

• Developing new features and enhancements.
• Working from specifications, requirements, and user stories.
• Estimating development work and writing clean, maintainable code.
• Supporting unit and integration testing and defect resolution.
• Collaborating with testers, analysts, developers, and stakeholders.
• Supporting release activity and Jira tracking.
• Participating in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Mentoring junior team members as needed.
