Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ireland Limited in Dublin is seeking a Senior Secondary Engineering Lead to deliver all secondary engineering for high‑voltage substations, grid infrastructure and EPC projects. You will lead technical design, review and coordination of protection, control and SCADA systems across tendering, execution, commissioning and handover.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive HV/MV experience, and the ability to work with engineers, suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in HV/MV substation secondary engineering.
• Proven EPC project delivery across tendering, execution, commissioning and handover.
• Strong leadership and mentoring of engineering teams and partners.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead for assigned projects from concept through commissioning.
• Coordinate, supervise and mentor engineering teams, partners and suppliers.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers, technicians and support staff.
• Manage engineering interfaces across primary, civil, telecoms, QA, planning, supply chain and project management functions.
• Prepare, review and approve protection and control deliverables (SLDs, schematics, wiring, I/O schedules).
• Design and validate protection philosophies, relay settings and coordination studies.
• Develop technical specifications, design intent documents and testing requirements.
• Support tendering, FAT, SAT, commissioning and customer acceptance.
