Job summary

Enable Ireland in Dublin South East (CHO6) is seeking a Senior Grade Occupational Therapist for part-time roles in Sandymount and Leopardstown. The post focuses on delivering paediatric occupational therapy services to children and their families within an interdisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will provide assessment, intervention and supervision, with opportunities for service development across clinics, schools and community settings.

Qualifications

• Hold professional registration on the Occupational Therapist Register maintained by CORU.
• Have three years full-time (or aggregate) post-qualification clinical experience.
• Maintain annual CORU registration on the Occupational Therapists Register.
• Eligible to work in Ireland.
• Experience working with children 0–18 years and their families.
• Experience in multidisciplinary team working.
• Experience supervising students/therapy assistants.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a children’s disability service.
• Experience or training in clinical supervision.
• Provide proof of statutory registration before contract issued.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Senior Grade Occupational Therapist to join our team in Dublin South East (CHO6). We have part-time opportunities within our teams in Sandymount and Leopardstown.

• 0.5 WTE based in Sandymount
• 0.8 WTE based in Leopardstown

Contract Type: Permanent Posts

Contract Hours: Part Time Posts

Salary Scale: €62,072 - €73,477 rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)

This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 33 days pro rata per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.

Overview of the Post:

Enable Ireland delivers children’s services through the Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT) under the national Progressing Disabilities Services (PDS) model for children and young people with complex needs arising from a disability. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a range of Occupational Therapy services for young people (0 – 18 years) and their families within an interdisciplinary framework. Service will include assessment and intervention, clinical supervision and ongoing service development. This will be delivered through a family centred approach across a variety of settings including the clinic, preschools, schools, children’s homes and community settings.

The successful candidate will have:

Candidates for appointment must:

• Hold professional registration on the Occupational Therapist Register maintained by the Occupational Therapist Registration Board at CORU.

AND

• Have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years) post qualification clinical experience.

AND

• Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

AND

• Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.

Annual registration

• On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.

AND

• Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the State.
• Minimum 1 year post qualification experience of working with families and children with a range of physical disabilities/developmental delays.
• Experience of working with children 0 – 18 years and their families.
• Experience and/or training in clinical supervision.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a children’s disability service.
• Experience of multi/interdisciplinary team working.
• Experience of supervising students/therapy assistants.
