Job summary

Egis Engineering – Ireland invites an experienced Geotechnical Design Engineer to join our Ireland-based team. You will lead geotechnical input on major infrastructure projects including highways, rail, and active travel schemes, delivering complex designs to Eurocodes and Irish/UK standards.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience, a Civil or Geotechnical Engineering degree (Master’s preferred), and Chartered status with Engineers Ireland or near Chartered.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ post-graduate experience in geotechnical design.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Chartership with Engineers Ireland or nearing Chartered status.
  • Proficient in PLAXIS, SLOPE/W, WALLAP and Settle3.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage geotechnical input on large-scale civil projects.
  • Prepare and review geotechnical designs, reports, specs and drawings.
  • Provide mentoring to junior geotechnical staff.
  • Coordinate ground investigation scoping, design, supervision and interpretation.
  • Collaborate with civil, structural and environmental teams.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, clients and contractors during design and construction.
  • Ensure all geotechnical work meets Eurocodes and Irish/UK standards.
