Job summary

Gaia Talent is seeking a Project Geotechnical Design Engineer to join an established multidisciplinary consultancy in Ireland. You will develop geotechnical designs for roads, earthworks, slopes and foundations, supporting a diverse infrastructure portfolio.

Candidates will hold a Civil Engineering or Geology degree with a Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering, experience in site investigations, CAD work, and a path toward Chartered Engineer status.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology with a Master's in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Experience in geotechnical design for infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and geotechnical design software.
• Willingness to pursue Chartered Engineer status.
• Strong analytical, organisational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake geotechnical assessments, including peat stability and ground conditions.
• Manage and supervise site investigations and related field activities.
• Carry out geotechnical design for roads, highways, active travel and greenways earthworks.
• Design and assess slope stability, retaining structures and foundations.
• Prepare and manage CAD documentation in collaboration with CAD technicians.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, graduates and other specialists.
• Attend site visits, client meetings and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Support project delivery within timescales and budgets.
• Follow quality, environmental, health and safety procedures.
