Job summary

Arup in Ireland seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead geotechnical design and construction support for major international commissions and Irish infrastructure projects. You will deliver geotechnical solutions, manage budgets, and maintain strong client relationships.

The role also offers mentoring of junior engineers, potential expert witness involvement, and opportunities to influence national standards while prioritising sustainability in engineering decisions.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• 6+ years post‑graduate experience in geotechnical design and/or construction.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
• Excellent communication and report‑writing skills; able to manage budgets and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical design and construction support for major international commissions.
• Deliver geotechnical solutions for nationally significant Irish infrastructure.
• Manage project delivery, budgets and client interactions with high‑quality technical outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers and support senior leaders in expert witness work.
