Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited in Ireland is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to apply GenAI and ML to build security services that detect and mitigate threats across AWS infrastructure.

You will collaborate with software engineers, security engineers, and fellow scientists to deploy AI/ML models at petabyte-scale, drive research direction, and mentor junior teammates while publishing findings and patents.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research
• Experience leading engineering teams
• 3+ years ML model development for business
• Deployment of AI/ML to production with customer impact
• Proficiency in Python and scripting
• EU national eligibility

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI/ML systems processing threat data at scale
• Analyze data and develop prototypes for detecting unknown security problems
• Independently frame ambiguous problems and define a research agenda
• Advocate for new technologies to solve security problems
• Build consensus balancing rigor with operational urgency
• Mentor teammates technically and professionally
• Publish patents and peer-reviewed articles and present research
