Job summary

Waterford City and County Council is seeking a Senior Executive Quantity Surveyor for a full-time post with initial assignment to the Housing Department in Waterford City.

The Senior Executive Quantity Surveyor (Housing) will lead financial management, procurement, contract administration and project management of a diverse works portfolio, including new-build social housing and retrofitting of existing housing stock.

Responsibilities

• Establish comprehensive budget estimates, cost plans, and life-cycle costing assessments for housing developments and construction projects from inception to completion.
• Manage strict cost-control systems to monitor project expenditures, manage contingencies, prevent budget overruns, and report on final accounts.
• Commercially lead projects by evaluating construction valuations, processing interim payments, assessing entitlement and quantum, estimating change orders, and negotiating final accounts with the supply chain/contractors.
