Job summary

CPL is partnering with a leading fintech to hire an Engineering Manager who will own a portfolio of cloud-based applications. You’ll build and grow a high-performing software engineering team, collaborating with product and architecture leaders to shape what gets delivered and when.

You’ll lead delivery across web applications, drive CI/CD, IaC and containerisation, and mentor engineers while hiring to build an inclusive engineering culture in a hybrid Dublin-based environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in software engineering building secure, scalable web apps.
• 5+ years direct people management of engineering teams.
• Hands-on frontend and backend development.
• Experience delivering cloud-based applications and services.
• Strong grasp of microservices, cloud deployments and API-led systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers building scalable, secure and resilient web applications.
• Own delivery across a portfolio of business-critical applications and services.
• Work with product owners, architects and senior stakeholders to turn strategy into prioritised roadmaps and delivery plans.
• Raise the bar on engineering standards across development, testing, deployment and operational excellence.
• Shape the design and delivery of cloud-native, microservices-based solutions.
• Coach, mentor and develop your engineers, supporting their growth, performance and engagement.
• Lead hiring and help build an inclusive, high-performing engineering culture.
• Champion best practice across CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code and containerisation.
• Collaborate with teams and stakeholders across multiple locations.
• Balance delivery speed, technical quality, risk and operational demands across several workstreams.
