Job summary

Key Talent Solutions is recruiting an experienced Senior Engineer – Roads & Transportation for an Ireland-based multidisciplinary consultancy. You will design highways, active travel and public transport projects and contribute to reports across the project lifecycle.

The role requires a Civil/Transportation Engineering degree, Chartered status or working towards, ~8 years of post-graduate experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Irish standards (TII, DMURS, Cycle Design Manual).

About the Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Engineer – Roads & Transportation on behalf of an established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of transportation and sustainable infrastructure projects, including national road schemes, active travel and greenways, public transport projects, and major design-and-build schemes.

The successful candidate will contribute to the preparation and delivery of transportation designs and reports throughout the project lifecycle while working closely with multidisciplinary engineering, environmental and ecology teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design highways, active travel, greenway and public transport projects.
• Prepare engineering designs and technical reports throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Apply relevant Irish transportation design standards and guidance.
• Work closely with engineers, ecologists, environmental scientists and other multidisciplinary specialists.
• Mentor and support junior members of the engineering team.
• Work in accordance with company Quality Assurance and Management Systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation.

What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering.
• Approximately 8 years of post-graduate experience in transportation project design.
• Chartered Engineer, or actively working towards Chartered Engineer status.
• Strong working knowledge of:
• TII Publications
• DMURS
• Cycle Design Manual
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Advantageous Experience

Experience on design-and-build projects would be an advantage.

Exposure to projects involving national roads, active travel, greenways and public transportation infrastructure would also be highly relevant.
