Job summary

Life Science Recruitment is seeking a Senior Electronic Engineer to join a fast-growing Pharmacy Automation team in Ireland. This is a hands-on hardware role spanning robotics, automated dispensing, vision systems, and pharmacy management platforms, with involvement across the full product lifecycle from concept to commercialisation.

Qualifications

• A Level 8 degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
• Strong analog, digital, and mixed-signal design knowledge.
• Hands-on PCBA design experience for industrial or regulated products.
• Proficiency with ECAD tools — Altium Designer preferred.
• Bonus: Machinery Regulation compliance, EMC testing, or formal requirements documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end PCBA design from concept to release to manufacturing.
• Select and qualify components for electrical performance, reliability, lifecycle, and second-source strategy.

Overview: My client are looking for a Senior Electronic Engineer to join their fast-growing Pharmacy Automation team.

This is a hands-on hardware role at the heart of a diverse product portfolio spanning robotics, automated dispensing, vision systems, and pharmacy management platforms. You'll work across the full product lifecycle — from early-stage concept through to commercialisation — alongside mechanical, software, systems, and quality teams to bring complex electro-mechanical products to life.

What you'll be doing

• Owning end-to-end PCBA design: concept, schematic capture, component selection, layout support, bring-up, verification, and release to manufacturing
• Selecting and qualifying components for electrical performance, reliability, availability, lifecycle, and second-source strategy
• Debugging and verifying board designs using lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyser, power analysis)

What you'll bring

• A Level 8 degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent proven experience)
• 5+ years' experience in a similar role, ideally within machinery or regulated equipment
• Strong analog, digital, and mixed-signal design knowledge
• Hands-on PCBA design experience for industrial or regulated products
• Proficiency with ECAD tools — Altium Designer preferred
