Senior Electrical Engineer

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
• Develop electrical systems for pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing facilities, including power distribution, control systems, and automation.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory and safety standards (ATEX, IEC, ISO 13849).
• Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and develop innovative solutions.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports, technical drawings and support the creation of validation documentation (URS, DQ, FAT, SAT, etc.).
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for electrical systems.
• Coordinate with mechanical, automation, and process engineers to develop integrated solutions.
• Guide junior and intermediate engineers, review their work, and provide training on industry standards.
• Oversee supplier selection, review technical specifications, and manage contractor performance.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and regulatory changes within the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
• Apply deep knowledge of wiring requirements and ATEX calculations for instrumentation loops.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior/lead role within the medical device or pharmaceutical sector.
• Deep knowledge of IS 10101 standards.
• Strong experience with power distribution, PLCs, SCADA, BMS, EMS, and automation within regulated industries.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, EPLAN, or similar design tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Proven leadership and communication skills, including mentoring junior engineers.
• Certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent are preferred.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and adapts to evolving project requirements.
