Job description

Our client, a global leader of medical device manufacturing solutions is hiring an Automation Engineer. The successful candidate will be part of a team that designs and builds Automated Equipment for the medical device, pharmaceutical and other highly regulated sectors. You will become part of a growing multi-disciplinary team delivering automated equipment solutions from concept through to full implementation and have responsibility of machine control system software design, development & commissioning. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain varied experience in the design of high-tech engineering applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate control system software for automated machines including PLCs, robotics, motion, HMI, SCADA, vision
• Develop, test, commission & support machine control software
• Design equipment to CE, electrical, machinery safety and clients’ standards
• Interpret & develop design & validation documentation required for regulated industries (URS, FDS, FAT, etc)
• Specification of control system components
• Collaborate closely within a multi-disciplinary project team throughout an entire project life cycle

Qualifications

• Relevant 3rd level degree with a minimum of 3 years experience in this role or a similar position.
• PLC & HMI experience desirable, preferably with Allen Bradley or Siemens platforms.
• Knowledge of automated machine design, specification & development.
• Ability to create technical documentation.
• Familiarity with robotics, motion control, machine vision, pneumatics an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills with a proactive and energetic approach.
• Strong organizational skills with a quality minded outlook and a problem-solving attitude.
• Ability to work well in a multifunctional team.
• Driving licence and ability to travel.
