Job summary

Ethos Engineering seeks a Senior Project Engineer – Electrical to lead the design and delivery of electrical building services upgrades in live data centre environments across Europe. You will manage scope, budget, and programmes while coordinating with clients, contractors, and multi-disciplinary teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to technical strategies for retrofit opportunities, and champion innovation to continuously improve Ethos’ retrofit delivery model across EMEA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in building services engineering, with at least 3 years focused on data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Experience in live data centre environments — brownfield upgrades, MEP replacements, or phased refurbishments.
• Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards Chartership) with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services upgrades within live data centre environments.
• Develop retrofit-specific design strategies, including tie-ins to live systems and resilience design.
• Conduct technical due diligence of existing data centre facilities and prepare technical documentation.
• Manage project scope, budget, programme, and contracts while mitigating risks.
• Mentor junior engineers and support business development through proposals and client presentations.
