Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to join our Irish operations. You will lead estimation activities for design and build HV substations and windfarms, coordinating with multiple departments to deliver accurate, timely tenders.

You will read technical specs, manage risk, and present clear estimates for handover to the construction team. A 3rd level qualification and 5+ years in construction are essential.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying or similar.
• 5+ years’ experience in the construction industry, with 2 years in a Senior Electrical Estimator role.
• Experience in Power and Renewables industry.
• Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret Electrical Technical Specifications and Employers Requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates by compiling takeoffs based on the scope of work and entering into estimating system.
• Read Electrical Specifications and Employers Requirements for Design & Build HV substations and windfarms.
• Manage tender process with departments and submit tenders on time.
• Assist in compiling technical submissions of inclusions, exclusions, clarifications and program of works.
• Manage quotation requests and review quotations for completeness.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously and forecast risks and solutions.
• Attend post-tender meetings and explain estimates at handover to construction teams.
