Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering invites an experienced Estimating Manager to lead the Power & Renewables estimating function across major infrastructure projects. You will shape tender strategy, mentor a high‑performing team, and drive commercial excellence in a challenging market.

Working with senior leadership, engineering and operations, you will develop robust estimating processes, maintain cost databases, and ensure winning bids align with governance and information security requirements.

Qualifications

• Significant estimating leadership experience within Power, Renewables, Utilities, Energy Infrastructure, or a related sector.
• Strong commercial and technical understanding of large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing estimating teams.
• Experience managing complex tenders from initial enquiry through to final adjudication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating function across Power & Renewables projects.
• Drive excellence throughout the tendering and bid management process.
• Manage tender adjudications and support key commercial decision-making.
• Coach, mentor, and develop a team of estimators, promoting continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Business Unit Managers, Associate Directors, Engineering, Operations, and Commercial teams to ensure high-quality tender submissions.
• Build and maintain estimating systems, procedures, and best practices.
