Job summary

MSD in Dundalk, Ireland, is seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to lead site-wide Environmental, Health & Safety programmes and embed a strong safety culture across a growing vaccines manufacturing site.

You will partner with site leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, drive continuous improvement, and provide technical guidance on biosafety, environmental management, and occupational health across complex manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant EHS experience within regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience developing and implementing site-wide EHS programmes and compliance initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permit management.
• Experience engaging with regulators and inspections.
• Knowledge of biosafety, industrial hygiene and risk management is desirable.
• Proven ability to lead investigations and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programmes across the site.
• Embed a culture of safety, compliance, and risk awareness with site leadership and teams.
• Develop and implement EHS procedures, standards, training, and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance on environment, health, safety, and compliance matters.
• Lead risk assessments, investigations, corrective actions, and improvements.
• Coordinate with regulators and ensure permits/regulatory compliance.
• Drive biosafety, environmental management, industrial hygiene, and process safety initiatives.
• Support management of change activities and identify EHS risks.
• Monitor EHS performance, identify trends, and drive improvements to reduce risk.
• Deliver training and coaching to employees, contractors, and leadership.
• Act as a key EHS representative across projects and cross-functional initiatives.
