Job summary

CompuStaff Group in Galway, Ireland is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own edge compute and computer vision initiatives. You will develop high-performance C++ software for real-time edge environments, and drive production-ready solutions from prototype to deployment.

This hands-on role covers cameras, GPUs and hardware integration, with emphasis on low latency, high throughput and robust testing. Hybrid work requires at least 3 days per week in the Galway office.

Qualifications

• Production-grade C++ software development experience.
• Strong background in computer vision and real-time processing.
• Experience with edge computing and camera systems.
• Proficiency in multithreading, memory management and performance tuning.
• Strong debugging, profiling and CI/CD knowledge.
• Experience delivering production software from prototype to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-performance C++ software for real-time edge environments.
• Design and improve computer vision systems including multi-camera calibration and tracking.
• Build and optimise real-time image-processing and inference pipelines.
• Work with cameras, GPUs, edge devices and related hardware.
• Optimize for low latency, high throughput and CPU/GPU utilisation.
• Move CV and ML capabilities from prototype to production.
• Profile performance across software, hardware and networking.
• Develop automated tests and contribute to architecture and standards.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical direction on complex problems.
