Job summary

Protex AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (C/C++) to join our Computer Vision team. You will design and optimise a high‑performance real‑time video analytics pipeline built on NVIDIA DeepStream and GStreamer, running on edge hardware with tight latency targets.

You will own performance, reliability and observability, from custom GStreamer plugins to edge‑to‑cloud delivery, and mentor others while shaping the technical direction of our CV platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep understanding of traditional C/C++, with strong proficiency in modern C++ (C++17/20).
• Proven expertise in multithreading, asynchronous programming, and concurrency in C++.
• Proven expertise in performance profiling and monitoring of C++ applications, focusing on optimisation and throughput.
• Proven ability to debug multi-threaded & real-time C++ applications with GDB.
• Experience building and deploying with Docker, including on edge devices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimise a high-performance, real‑time video analytics pipeline powering the AI‑driven safety platform.
• Own performance, reliability and observability from custom GStreamer plugins to edge‑to‑cloud delivery.
• Influence technical direction, mentor teammates, and implement robust solutions.
• Collaborate with the Computer Vision team to ensure scalable, edge-optimised deployments.
