Job summary

Ardilaun Hotel in Galway city is seeking an experienced Senior Duty Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in hotel management, with strong Food & Beverage leadership, guest service standards, and hands-on floor presence.

You will work closely with the management team to ensure smooth operations across departments, motivate staff, address guest feedback promptly, and uphold SOPs and health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hotel management or a related field.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Knowledge of hotel operations, reservation systems, and customer service principles.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including late night, early morning and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the management team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the hotel operation.
• Foster a welcoming, professional and hospitable environment for all guests.
• Address guest feedback and complaints promptly and professionally, implementing improvements where required to enhance overall guest satisfaction.
• Ensure all staff conduct themselves in accordance with the hotel’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies and service standards.
• Direct and support the team across all operational departments in their day-to-day duties.
• Provide strong leadership and maintain a visible presence on the floor, taking a hands-on approach to hotel operations.
• Provide strong operational support to the Food & Beverage departments, ensuring consistently high standards of service, presentation and guest experience.
• Take responsibility for operational decision-making during assigned shifts and ensure any issues are resolved efficiently and appropriately.
• Monitor standards across the hotel, including guest areas, bedrooms, Food & Beverage outlets and public areas.
• Support the training, development and performance of team members, providing guidance and feedback where required.
• Ensure effective communication between departments and provide clear handovers to the management team.
• Ensure all health & safety, fire safety, licensing and hotel procedures are adhered to during each shift.
• Complete daily operational checks and follow up on any issues identified.
