Job summary

MongoDB is seeking software engineers to develop a high-performing, modular distributed query system. You’ll work on execution algorithms, new query language features, and performance tuning to power customers’ workloads.

This role can be based out of our Dublin office or remotely in Ireland, with relocation support available. Expect to contribute to core engine features and collaborate across teams to deliver robust systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in systems programming.
• Experience in databases is a plus but not required.
• Hands-on experience building industrial-strength software.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and software design/architecture.
• Experience with large code bases, preferably in C++, C, Rust or similar language.
• B.Sc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Interest in database query engines; MSc/PhD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand and improve current functionality of the MongoDB query engine.
• Contribute high quality C++ code and participate in code reviews.
• Identify, design, implement, test, and support new features related to query performance and robustness, and query language enhancements.
• Collaborate with peers to deliver excellent technical solutions.
