Job summary

Acuity is seeking a DevOps Architect in Cork, Ireland, to design and implement robust DevOps practices using Azure technologies for the Q-SYS platform. You’ll work with software and firmware engineers to automate build/test infra, streamline deployment workflows, and ensure reliable releases across a high-visibility environment.

Responsibilities include collaborating with release teams, maintaining deployment docs, and staying current with industry trends to improve efficiency and uptime.

Qualifications

• B.S. in CS or related field; equivalent degree accepted.
• Strong Linux development and deployment background.
• Deep experience with Azure cloud and Azure DevOps.
• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
• Familiarity with IaC (Bicep/Terraform) and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Experience integrating security tools (SAST/SCA/DAST) in CI/CD.
• Experience with monitoring/logging (Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch).
• Experience in CI/CD for microservices on Azure.

Job description

You will be the architect of change, the visionary who designs, develops, and implements the robust DevOps practices that keep us ahead of the curve using Azure technologies. You will work in close collaboration with an experienced team of software and firmware engineers to develop and support our Q-SYS platform. Our customer applications range from the boardrooms of Fortune 100 companies to the vast expanses of airports, sports stadiums, and theme parks. Your expertise will be the cornerstone of our Q-SYS Reflect Enterprise Manager, a state-of-the-art remote monitoring and management web platform that harnesses the latest AI technologies as well as our overall Q-SYS platform.

This position is based in Cork, Ireland, Penrose Dock

Essential Functions / Core Duties:

• Assist in development of our automated build and test infrastructure, with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and reliability
• Improve and streamline the development and deployment workflow for our software Dev and SQA teams
• Continuous improvements to the deployment process to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in DevOps and automation
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration of new features and releases
• Develop and maintain documentation for deployment processes and procedures

Core responsibilities will include decision-making on releasing our software to the public, coordinating with the broader release team

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

• B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Background in Linux software development workflow and tools
• Background in Linux administration and application deployment
• Strong background in Azure cloud platform
• Excellent knowledge in Azure DevOps
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Helm to manage Kubernetes
• Experience with IaC tool – Bicep/Terraform (Bicep preferred)
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef
• Experience in SCM tools like GitHub, Bitbucket or any git-based tools
• Experience in integration and implementation of security tools in pipelines for SAST, SCA, and DAST is preferred
• Experience in Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, or other monitoring/logging tools
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment of a microservice-based enterprise cloud application. Our platform is based on Azure Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Bicep, Jenkins, RabbitMQ, and other standard tools.
