Job summary

Abbott Diabetes Care Kilkenny is seeking a senior data engineer to lead data platform initiatives across engineering, manufacturing, and analytics. You will design scalable data pipelines, drive Databricks development, and partner with global teams to enable AI-enabled decision making.

The role requires extensive experience with Python, SQL, Spark, and cloud data architectures, plus ability to mentor engineers and deliver value through data-driven solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, Data Engineering or related field.
• Significant data engineering or industrial analytics experience.
• Strong Python and SQL development experience.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and modern data architectures.
• Knowledge of MES, SCADA, ERP, or other industrial systems.
• Hands-on Databricks and Spark experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines across engineering, manufacturing, and analytics.
• Lead Databricks platform development and establish standards and best practices.
• Integrate data from manufacturing systems and enable OT/IT data collaboration.
• Collaborate with global teams to deliver strategic data initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the data organization.
