Job summary

Abbott Sligo seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and enable scalable data products and platforms that power analytics, AI, and reporting across the business. You will work with Data Product Leaders, Architects, and IT to ensure data quality and governance while advancing Abbott's Data, AI & Analytics strategy.

You will collaborate with Data Scientists and stakeholders to deploy models, automate data pipelines, and promote modern data engineering practices in a regulated Life Sciences

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline.
• Significant experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data engineering solutions.
• Strong experience with AWS Cloud technologies, Databricks, Oracle databases, Python, Spark, and SQL.
• Experience implementing Data Governance and Data Quality practices.
• Experiences supporting AI, machine learning, analytics, and reporting solutions.
• Strong understanding of modern data architectures, data modelling, metadata, lineage, and data management principles.
• Experience working in highly regulated environments requiring compliance with data integrity, quality, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data products, pipelines, and platforms.
• Translate requirements into robust technical solutions delivering business value.
• Develop reusable data assets to improve accessibility and efficiency.
• Ensure data platforms support future AI requirements.
