Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited in Dublin seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead structural designs for AWS data centres across the EMEA region. You will guide a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers and designers to deliver high-quality, cost-efficient facilities that meet security and reliability standards.

This role focuses on prototyping, design baselines, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external consultants to ensure timely delivery while addressing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.
• Experience in commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Develop & maintain structural Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications.
• Structural Design lead on Data Centre projects with the following duties: Prepare conceptual data centre scheme designs based on information from due diligence site assessments and local regulations and permitting requirements.
• Partner with internal customers to establish project scope, schedule and deliverables.
• Create, review and release RFPs for engagement of external design vendor, including review bids and make recommendations.
• As structural Design lead on Data Centre projects manage external design consultants through design and construction to ensure high standards of deliverables on schedule.
• Coordinate with internal and external Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Fire and Cabling design engineers.
