Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Data Centre Design Manager to join its Data Centre Design Engineering team in Dublin, Ireland. You will lead designs for AWS Data Centres in our Europe, Middle East & Africa geography and impact other projects around the world.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of data center mechanical and electrical equipment required.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities.
• Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
• Create and track metrics related to cost, quality, and duration of design and coordinate data from construction and commissioning teams.
• Schedule engineering resources and influence design changes based on internal customer needs with AWS Engineering leads.
• Establish project scope, schedule and deliverables; create, review and release design RFPs; manage external design consultants.
• Coordinate with internal and external Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Cabling design engineers; drive cost reductions without impacting quality.
• Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction reviews, and interface with design consultants; anticipated travel not to exceed 25%.
• Engage and manage permitting and design consultants; conduct after-action reviews and identify opportunities for process improvement.
